Feeling we’d done all the damage we could do at the fiber fair, we opted to drive further north and see what trouble we could find. The innkeeper had suggested an artisan fair featuring Kentucky and Indiana artists. GPS in hand, vague directions and a poor sense of where we were headed, we made our way there, spending the afternoon perusing pottery, tasting wines, fudge, salsa and cheeses, fondling fiber items and wishing we could take a bit more home with us. Spur of the moment decisions are often the best ones, aren’t they? And an unexpected path home provided beautiful scenery, good conversation and views that we wouldn’t have captured had we taken the most direct route.
