Roadtrips are good stuff, right? Top them off with meeting up with good friends, yarn shopping at a fun little festival, good food, a sweet little inn. . . and you’ve got the makings of a great weekend.
I trekked north for our semi-regular trip to the Fiber Event at Greencastle, alternating CDs and singing at the top of my lungs. . . perhaps my favorite part of roadtripping.
This trip is a reunion of sorts, as Needlefingers, Jenny from the Blog and I haven’t been in a few years, but had been regulars at the event.
I loaded the car with ample music for the first leg of my trip: driving to Illinois to meet up with Needlefingers. From there, we headed to Greencastle to catch up with Jenny at the BirdSong Inn, a sweet little place, complete with a pond, a sweet hostess and homemade cookies.
We perused the festival a bit, spent far too much money and scrounged up pizza from Humble Pie for dinner, topped by dessert from Almost Home and some hard sought coffee. Temperatures had dropped, we’d seen sleet and snow, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. . . or my need to purchase yarn.
More perusing tomorrow. . . and then the trip home.
