Having that one extra day, those extra 24 hours makes all the difference in a weekend. I ventured to the yarn sale, and watched the chickens scatter as I drove by. I finally got brave enough to pull out the carrots and got a sweet surprise, they were worth the wait.
I got some of the planting done for our fall and winter garden, just before the skies opened up. I was grateful for the rain, realizing it was nourishing my newly planted seeds.
I spent the rest of the afternoon inside, finishing a sweater, washing laundry, relaxing a bit. Cynical made dinner. We ate on the porch. I’m ready for fall, but I’ll miss those meals full of fresh produce.
